We understand the process of finding excellent care in a safe, supportive, and comforting environment for yourself or loved ones. We have experienced this with our own parents. We welcome your questions and want to work with you to find the best fit possible. Contact us if you have a question we haven’t answered below.

Why a small residential home instead of a large community?
There are many great large facilities, but they cannot provide the personal care or sense of a home environment a small boutique setting can give. We will do our best to attend to your detailed requests and individual needs by a small staff that knows you by name. We can also notice small health or well being changes in our senior residents that may be overlooked in a large facility. While you choose a bedroom as your ‘own space’ the entire house and patio areas are yours to use and enjoy with your new community, or in a quiet area.
Are meal times set?
Yes and No. We encourage consistent times of meals for nutrition and social interaction. However, we understand you have worked hard all your life and some days a resident’s preference may be to sleep in or have a late night snack. Our staff is available 24 hours per day to accommodate most requests.
Are there set visiting hours?
We love visitors for our senior residents! We have specified hours for visiting, 8am to 8pm, but with notice, and certainly in event of an emergency we can make exceptions. We have to respect all residents’ privacy.
What about extra expenses, deposits and "buy in" costs?
Please see the ‘Services‘ page for what is included in our basic cost. There is no ‘buy in’. Every resident is on a month-to-month contract to allow for flexibility. We do not collect a deposit but do have a non-refundable application fee. If a client is accepted, we would ask for the first month’s rent at signing of the contract and a nonrefundable ‘move in’ fee of one-half the basic fee. Additional needs may change that require additional service and cost.
Who oversees Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly?
We are licensed by the California Department of Social Services. They have strict guidelines and requirements that must know and comply with at all times. The state can come to our facility at any time for inspection or evaluations. In addition, Greg and Melinda live on site to oversee the operation of the facility and supervise employees.
What activities are available?
As a small boutique facility, we will strive to accommodate any request. Common activities include music, arts and crafts, themed celebrations, exercise programs, memory stimulation, outings to the beautiful La Jolla shoreline, shopping in the village of La Jolla, and use of our putting green.
Will I be safe, or what if I need help?
We have a locked home with 24 hour awake staff and alarm system. A call system will be available to summon the staff anytime. Our home has been inspected by the San Diego Fire Marshal to comply with all requirements for smoke alarms and egress.
Why should I choose Sea Breeze Senior Living?
We think our home and staff will speak for themselves. We expect all to feel a warm sense of home when they enter the door. We will always strive to be above the standard as we welcome you to your new home.
